Today was an emotional day. A resident/student committed suicide and was found dead in is apartment the day before Thanksgiving. His grandparents came to town today to pack up his room and could not make it through the process without breaking down. He was very young, under 21 and although he had some hardships in his life, he will never be able to see if things could have turned around to become better for him.
I feel bad that anyone would think that less of their own life to end it, but most of all I felt bad for his grandparents. The two people who raised, supported and loved him unconditionally. For them, Thanksgiving may never again be a joyous and happy occasion.
All in all, the situation made me appreciate those who love and care about me the most. I would never want to put my parents or loved ones through such an ordeal, and though I may be down at times....life is much to precious to end so abruptly. Whatever time I have left here, I want to live it to the fullest.
