Shopping Makes the World Better: Positivity Part 2!

Yesterday I went to the outlet mall in Branson Missouri. First of all....I was extremely pleased with the sales, the atmosphere and most importantly, I got some good stuff!!!
Not to brag about that too much, but I was in the fitting room at GAP (trying on a dress I didn't think would fit but it actually did), and when I was finished I walked out and left a shopping bag from Bath & Body Works. Of course at this time I did not know that I left it. The mall was closing in less that 20 minutes, and I had made the decision to go back to Ralph Lauren to get a bag I really liked earlier. So after I finished in the GAP I went back to Ralph Lauren, got my bag (which ended up being on sale too!!) and left. We went down the street to have dinner, then got on the road to return to Fay-Town. When I arrived back at home and brought my bags in, I realized I did not have the B&BW bag.....Initially, I was a little sad because I thought that my purchased products had been scooped up somewhere by someone else :-( then all of a sudden, that sadness went away and I decided not to let it bother me. I shrugged my shoulders, said "oh well, what can you do"? and went on with the rest of my night.

Luckily, a friend of mine helped me retrace my steps to remember the last time I remember having the bag. It was indeed in the fitting room at GAP. My friend suggested that I call GAP the next day & ask if it was turned in by any chance and if so, to ask if someone could take it to B&B W and they possibly refund the items because the receipt was in the bag. Well....I did just that. First I called GAP where I was transferred to the manager who was extremely nice and helpful. The bag was indeed turned in at the front and they were holding it incase I came back. I was able to successfully describe ALL of the items I purchased (if you see my B&BW collection you will know why! HA!) . Anyway, she told me she would personally take it back to that store. After I thanked her, I called B&BW and they told me she had just come in and brought the bag. The manager there was nice enough to offer to ship the items to me because she said she had no problem refunding them to my card, but was worried that if she did I would not be able to get the items on sale at another store. (It was indeed an outlet store!). She took my name, address and telephone number and said she would ship them to me at no cost.

This is another example of how positivity works! Although I almost gave up on the situation and it took a friend to help me figure out a potential solution (that worked!) I did not let the situation deter me from having a good night and I did not let it ruin my weekend. There are some really nice and compassionate people in the world....and good customer service is NOT extinct. All in all,  I must say that I am thankful to the associates of both stores, my friend, and my newly found sense of positivity and calmness (though I am still a work in progress)! Great Weekend!
