Some new endeavors

So recently I have embarked upon some new endeavors that have proved to be challenging for me, but will be very beneficial as well....First of all, I will be leaving my "cush" life here in NWA to take a job back at Texas A&M and finish writing my dissertation from out of state. Yes that is correct, I am moving back to Texas! That part I am excited about, but the idea of transitioning into a new position, finding a place to live, and moving all in less than 60 days is constantly challenging the "planner" in me....so to adjust, I have made a preliminary list of what I need to do, and I am slowly but surely checking things off as I go along. I will choose my next place of residence in one day (next weekend), and then begin the packing and moving. This position will give me the chance to get back in the classroom and teach, as well as to work with first-year students in a non housing setting, and exercise more supervisory and professional responsibilities. It will be challenging, but I am so positive that I will do well!

Next, I am still working on eating better and being healthier overall, but I am now kicking it up a notch! I work out at least 4 times per week, prepare most of my own meals, eat breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, and make time to relax. I leave work on time, and will not work after hours unless I am on call. I have learned that it is ok to let things go until the next day, especially if I have worked hard the day before.

Finally, in my personal life, I am "going with the flow" and meeting new people. I am open to much more diversity within my groups of friends and associates and have made more peace with not being in a relationship.

All in all, I would say that as an update, I am really enjoying life right now. I make myself get in the bed by 10pm each night, and am even resting better. A good quality of life leads to better peace of mind and more room for creativity and growth. That's where I am now...working on some new endeavors. Peace!
