Happy Valentine's Day...in the meantime

One V-Day Gift I did get from a friend. Oh how I love early morning tea on a cold day!

Today was the first Valentine's Day in years (of being single) that I did not have a moment of sadness or bitterness about not having a "valentine" or being single. I would have to say....that's growth!

Though I consider myself to be very much strong and independent, every now and then there are times when I feel lonely and kind of on the "outside" of experiences that those who are in relationships have. Valentine's day has often been one of those days. This time however, I had a good day. I woke up and spent some early before work time with a friend, went to work (saw all kinds of flowers, candy, kisses, etc.), gave some little goodies to my co-workers and staff, had a very nice and relaxing mani/pedi with some co-workers, and then had a pizza dinner with them! The company and conversation were really good, and just what I needed to help me through this occasion.

As time passes on, I become more and more content with my love life. I am not saying that being in a relationship would not be nice, but for the time being, I will continue to enjoy the here and now. Happy Valentine's Day to all of the lovers and loved ones, and Happy Valentine's Day to all of the single people who continue to have open hearts, open minds, and contentment in the meantime...
